🦋 A rare setting for botanical and insect observation
The Ratchaburi jungle zone covered during the Wild Expedition isn't just a sporting ground: it's also a site particularly well suited to botanical observation, with dense understory flora barely disturbed by human passage. The slow pace and extended bivouacs make it possible to spot a wide variety of butterflies, along with rare insects almost never encountered on Khao Yai's more frequented trails. It's a dimension of the expedition in its own right for travelers drawn to small fauna and flora, on top of the physical and technical immersion.
The terrain, in pictures
The day-by-day program
Check in at the hotel in Bangkok. Safety and gear briefing with the technical team. One comfortable night in a 2-star hotel before the immersion begins.
Departure at 5am, 2.5 hours on the road to the Ratchaburi jungle zone. Entry into the forest and first technical trek. First bivouac set up — the jungle's first sounds settling in with the night, sleeping in a hammock deep in the forest.
Slow progression toward a new stretch of jungle, often along the river as it swells with the season. Camp moves to a different setting each time. Second night in a hammock, energy rations and water managed self-sufficiently.
Camp moves again, terrain gets more technical — often the day the jungle reveals itself the most, far from any trace of human passage. Final night of bivouac, at the deepest point of the expedition.
Exit the jungle zone and private transfer back to Bangkok. You leave with tired legs, a few pictures you don't show just anyone, and the pride of having gone all the way.

That's exactly what makes the Wild Expedition exclusive. And because it requires specific permits in the Ratchaburi jungle zone, all the logistics are organized well in advance — please reach out early before your desired dates.
